Why did Jesus first forgive the paralytic`s sins, and only later heal him? What lesson was he trying to communicate? The lesson that Jesus tries to impart here while healing the paralytic was , (a) He was trying to emphasis the point that He was the Messiah and He had the authority to forgive men of their sins and (b) that its through faith and the forgiveness of ones sins that are the keys to healing.

Jesus, rebuked the disciples for being fearful. How should they have responsed to the storm? They should have shown more faith in Jesus. In hind-sight they could and should have prayed for calm and with Jesus there with them I'm positive that the results would have been the same.
