1325 entries for this category: In Jewish belief 'the Christ" is the long awaited king of the Jews and a military leader. Jesus was a spiritual leader sent by God to be a leader of all men and women. Peter recognised the significance of Jesus and was different to the prophets but could only follow him after the Holy Ghost gave him strength. It would seem there are two stuations taking place and Jesus wanted to seperate these. First Jesus, felt compassion for the man and wanted to help him and second Jesus, had arrived at a stage of spreading his message that the miracle would have interfered with that message. However, this does mean that Jesus will help us, by just by our asking for his help and as long as, we do need that help. What is "the Christ"? How is it different than one of the prophets?
