1325 entries for this category: He deemed it as a new commandment as He linked the love for eachother with the love He has shown for them- He linked it to the love he demonstarted in His life- He was an example. The original commandment, number one, was Love the Lord your God with all your heart and your soul and mind. Jesus adds that we should love eachother- love all of mankind. There was a time singing achildrens song at youth that made me click with the difference, really simple but meaningful, we can't just love God, we must love others. Why did Jesus say "On the contrary, blessed are those who hear the word of God, and keep it."? Jesus said "who hear the word of God". God uses the ears while the devil uses the eyes for his purposes. Hearing requires faith and to hear the words of Jesus in our hearts we need to hear it by faith and then apply it. We know that any skill we learn gets better and better when we apply it. So also it is by the words of Jesus. Unless we apply it daily in our walk we cannot say we are blessed. But if hear His words and apply them in our lives, the blessings automatically flow. It is thus for our good.

Was Jesus prayer about bringing heaven to people on earth, or about bringing people on earth to heaven? Jesus wants all of us to experience the peace that passes all understanding. This kind of peace is found only in Jesus. This is because He understands us and our situations better than any one. He is guiding and helping us everyday so that we may feel His presence abide in our lives. When we can abide in His presence continuely which is difficult by our own resources, we experience the heaven here on earth.

Why does Jesus call "Love One Another" a "New" commandment?
The song went something like, "Love the Lord your God with all your heart and all your soul and all your mind and love all of mankind as you would love yourself." simple but Important.
We must love our brothers and sisters in Christ and those in the ungodly multitude, I feel that is the reason behind why Jesus also taught to Love your enemies and pray for those who mistreat and persecture you...
