Why did Jesus´ penalty for "sin" need to include physical and emotional pain - why not just spiritual separation from God? From my studying, Jesus' penalty for OUR sin included physical and emotional pain as it is Gods will for us to suffer- When Jesus came to earth He experienced we will experience, so that He is able to sympathise with us in everything we experience.
