1325 entries for this category: The simple answer is that the life and death of Jesus did forefill the prophecies in order that the Jews would know that God was amoungst them. However the effect of Jesus was unusual in that the Jews rejected Jesus and they still do. The modern jewish writings argued that Jesus was only a prophet and not the "Son of Man". The reality is that when Jesus was rejected by the Jews, the good news of Jesus was passed to the gentiles and we all were able to profit from Jesus. This is brings respect to the passion of Jesus. Joseph of Arimathaea showed courage in asking Pilate for Jesus's body and this courage has come from the death of Jesus. The news of the life and death of Jesus would then, bring out the best of all who believed in Jesus. Why were fulfillment of prophecies important? "note: Jesus predicted his death and resurrection?"... saying that the Son of Man must be delivered up into the hands of sinful men, and be crucucified, and the third day rise again....". There are also many accounts in the old testament of the Messiah hunderd to thousdands of years before the event.
