Why did they take Jesus in private at night?

Me i think they did that because they feared the multitudes some of which had recieved miracles, and others believed in Him because of what they saw. The chief priests must have been scared of what could becomeof the arrest. Still though they arrested Jesus, they feared what He was capable of doing because of the power He demonstrated.

In this account Jesus healed the servants ear. Why did he do such a seemingly small thing while he was being arrested?

Jesus did healed the servant's ear because to Jesus every person counts, sinner or righteuos. Jesus was preaching forgiviness not revenge, so He had to show it Himself infront of His diciples to whom He was about to hand over the task of taking tha gospel to the nations.

Jesus said: "Pray that you don`t enter into temptation." What is temptation?

Temptation is that feeeling that pushes someone into commiting a sin. The voice that wrestles with one's true being, and it normally comes with good reasons to support the sin that you either choose to commit, or fight not to.
