How does repenting prepare someone for the Kingdom of God?
Everytime when I go in the presence of God to repent, i feel light in my body afterwards. It's always like I was carrying a heavy luggage. Repentance renews one's relationship with God, it makes us real children because if you do sin and run away from your own Father, where do expect to find mercy? When you repent, you are 100% sure that the arms of God are open wide to recieve you, because He delights more in righteousness.

Jesus and the law

I was looking for information to send out in one of my ''Manic Muse' emails when came across this site. Was sad to see that some of my sisters and brothers haven't, probably, read this in the Word; thier Bible:Jesus said to him, "'You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.' This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like it: 'You shall love your neighbor as yourself.' On these two commandments hang all the Law and the prophets." in Matthew 22:37-40 and  "If you love Me, keep My commandments." John 14:15. The 10 Commandments being the confirmation, the Law of God, which jesus came to fulfil as far as I understand it - not abolish it!

God gave us laws in the Old Testament as mankind, reported in Judges 21:25=

"In those days there was no king in Israel: every man did that which was right in his own eyes."

The apostle James, from what I read, calls the Ten Commandments "the royal law"—meaning that it came from a King, and is worthy of His Kingdom. Jesus is my Master and Teacher pointing to God my King.

Law is simply a guide for people to follow to ensure cohesion, agreement, and peace in civil and interpersonal relationships. Without an understood standard, enforced by a sovereign ruler, everyone would act according to his own whim or desire, and nothing good or worthwhile would be produced.

Why did Herod try to kill Jesus?

He knew that Jesus was going to be a great king, but he was thinking of eathly kingship - he felt his position was in danger.
