Why did Jesus clear the temple in such a dramatic manner? Why did not he try to accomplish the same thing more diplomatically?

Jesus cleared the temple because he showed the human feelings of anger because He knew that the Chief Priests were doing wrong to God and disobeying His orders.

It is wrong to use a House of Prayer as a shop. It is and should be a Sacred building where people pray and to be healed.

He was blatantly angry that God's house was being used for business and profit and the human element prevailed. If he had acted more diplomatically, I doubt if anyone would have taken any notice of him.

Why did Jesus choose to make His entry to Jerusalem in a humble manner, riding a donkey?

Jesus chose to enter Jerusalem in a humble manner riding a donkey because he was silently looking forward to whatever was ahead of Him. Jesus also at that was secretly moarning for the people He was going to give His life for, but had not valued His works. Still, the scriptures had to be fulfilled, it was written that He would enter Jerusalem in that manner.
