Authority is the power, legally given to someone and is free to exercise it upon whatever it is applicable to.

Jesus was a good example of demonstrating authority, because as He said, He was given authority both on earth and in Heaven, but He was so careful to use it r ight. When He was on the cross and the pain was to much, I believe that Jesus had the authority to curse all that were afflicting Him, but instead He blessed them.

He drove out demons, healed, and fed, without descrimination of them that did not believe in Him. He used authority on demons, and all the miracles He performed, and when He came to the temple and drove out traders, it was different.
