I think He had to suffer physical and emotional pain to please Hi persecutors and to show them that even though He was God`s son at that moment He was in Human Form/ flesh. He had to suffer like the animals that used to be sacrificed for sin - they suffered and died.

He had to suffer to show that no matter how great the pain is, His love for His people is greater, that is why He persevered.

He also had to show the people that sin separates man from God physically and emotionally.

The bible says that I am the temple of the Christ. In this, what I so, say and the picture people get from me will either inspire or turn them away from coming to my God. When I insipre them and they take the Jesus in me, automatically the Kingdom of God would have come to them because when one has Jesus, the he/she has a first class ticket to the Kingdom of God.
