"According to Jesus, what does it mean to be loved by God?"
God's love for us is unconditional and to prove this he sent his only begotten son to die for our sins. However for man to make it to heaven, he must be born again. Being born again is just the beginning of the journey, one must stay faithful, trusting in God, regardness of the numerous temptations and obstacles one encounters in this new life, for the devil will test your faith and you may backslide, do not be ashamed or embarrassed if you do, go back to your heavenly father and confess your sins, he is ever willing to forgive you, remember you are his sheep and he will continue to watch over you, particularly in those very trying times when you think you are alone against the whole world. I tell you he is there for you, remember "the foot prints in the sand"... the foot prints you see are those of the Lord as you are carried in the arms of our Lord in your times of trial.

Why didn`t Jesus condemn the woman caught in adultery?
He wanted to teach her accusers that they are as guilty as her from different sins including discrimination (the man she had committed adultery with was not there). They needed to repent from their sins before judging other people.

Why didn`t Nicodemus accept the opinion of the rulers and Pharisees about Jesus?
Nicodemus had believed Jesus is the Messiah and had gone to him at night to find out how can he enter the Kingdom of God. Jesus had told him what he needed to do. Nicodemus wanted the rulers and Pharisees to go to Jesus and hear Him speak so that he (Nicodemus) would not be alone amongst rulers who believed in Jesus. Nicodemus wanted rulers and Pharisees to speak to Jesus and see if they would not believe Him.
