Jesus emphasizes the phrase "in my name" when refering to the miracle and giving a cup of water. What does it mean to do something in Jesus` name?

This is a very helpful phrase which our lord Jesus has commanded.It is very simple and useful I have tried several times and it works till now.Whatever/However what you do "be it in jesus name" remember always he is living god.We are the blessed one that we have a living god among us.

In jesus name whatever I do This is the simple miracle phrase which I believe to follow all.
