Why is it helpful to confront a brother alone first, before involving others in confronting him?

Yes ,it is helpful, considering the reason that the things to be arranged is between you and him alone and to the fact that it is both of you who fully undesrtood tha issues that went wrong, then before allowing anyone get involve into the matters first discuss with the one who is directly involve and achieve for reconcillation between you.

If does not succeed then follow as the SCRIPTURE thought.

Why did Jesus call the Pharisees blind? What were they unable to see?

The Pharisees are Spiritually Blind;for they could not interpret or understand what Jesus Christ is doing and ministering to the Israelites.Sign and wonders has been witnessed by these pharisees but still they can not accept that Jesus miraculous deeds is from the power of the Holy God,for the Father to be glorified.

BRIEF LIFE SUMMARY

He suffered himself and his life to redeemed us from our sins. This is the only saviour that he truly love us, if we can focus in this summary below (bold) especially of his executed, it will remind it to me or to us not to have and not to do wrong moves or bad intentions to others because we are the children of god he gave us his life to us.

Jesus was brutally tortured and then hung by his hands, which were nailed to a horizontal wooden beam (cross). This method of execution restricted the airflow to his lungs, killing him in three hours. However, according to more than 500 witnesses, Jesus returned from the dead three days later, and over the next 40 days journeyed in both the southern and northern provinces of Israel. To many, this was conclusive proof that Jesus' claims to be God were real. Then Jesus returned to Jerusalem, the city where he was recently executed, and according to witnesses, he left the earth alive by rising up into the sky.

He will comeback at anytime, we don't know when it comes but repentance is important always and to thank him for his graces as gratitude to him.
