Why does Jesus call "Love One Another" a "New" commandment?

It is difficult to love one another if you do not love Jesus.. It is the LOVE that you offer to JESUS that will make you love your neighbors hence it will be wrong to say you LOVE GOD but hates your neighbor.. It is a new commandment becuase it is following the footsteps, the life of JESUS here on earth..
