Why was it important for Jesus to go through a time of temptation?

Jesus was brought here on earth not only to save us but to set Him as an example. We are created in His own image and likeness, Therefore Jesus wants to tell us you can avoid temptation, I was once a human!

saints,To show how scriptures is our only weapon to figth satan!"It is written" Jesus said and satan also said "It is written"To my surprise Jesus and satan obeys and honor the WORD of God while many preachers today DO NOT! by using translated bible in their native dialects w/broken Grammar!
