Why did Jesus speak to the people in parables, rather than just stating things directly?

The Gospel of Jesus Christ is the Love of the Father to the Lost.Jesus who is perfect in beauty to win the lost try to represent our God as a Father not as a Judge! The Prodigal son is perfect example.
