How is it that the Christ is descended from David, and yet David still calls Him Lord?
Jesus Christ became human through the descendant of David and yet He is directly the son of God who wants to become human to save us.

I was not surprised that in this lessons there was a mention of Jesus brothers and sisters. It is all based in the interpretation of  who you want it to be.That is the reason that were studying only one bible but theres so many interpretation, resulting to so many denomination.

What did you learn about Jesus` background that stands out or surprises you?

In Acts 1:14, "They gathered frequently to pray as a group, together with the women and with Mary mother of Jesus and with His brothers". Two major points revealed: that Jesus has brothers; and that women got together with Jesus and with other believers. When I first read this verse, I had the same question, does Jesus really had brothers? For it was not clearly documented in the Bible. But now, I know. But the big question now is about the women who were with Jesus. It's clear in this verse that women in that time joined Jesus, hence, me quoting our lesson:

The fact that they are mentioned as avid followers of Jesus is unusual – both that they would be allowed to follow him with his disciples, and unusual that the authors of Jesus’ biographies would mention their presence at all.

Please explain further. Thanks and God bless.
