Why does Jesus consider this woman`s desire to please Jesus more important than giving to the poor?

Saints,Jesus is a King and everything we own including the things you think its yours,it all belongs to Jesus,and if you give something to a king it is an insult for a king not to double your gift for this is the kingdom principle.

Why does Jesus encourage focusing on the daily task at hand and discourage predicting the future?

Jesus discourage predicting the future because as He had said, no one knows the future, the Second Coming, except God the Father. We must be prepared all the time when Jesus comes. Being prepared means we must be sure that we deserved to go with Him in heaven and we can only do that if we follow and obey all His commandments, i.e., loving Him, and loving our neighbors as well.
