The Roman governor, Pilate, found that Jesus had done nothing wrong. Yet, he authorized Jesus` crucifixion to please the crowd. Can you explain why people put popularity above doing what is right? Its human nature to be selfish however having true faith in God can help us how to be rightful and humble.

The Roman governor, Pilate, found that Jesus had done nothing wrong. Yet, he authorized Jesus` crucifixion to please the crowd. Can you explain why people put popularity above doing what is right? People put popularity first especially with Pilate's position, to make themselves look good to the multitudes. It was also probably a political move for Pilate, wanting to preserve his image and reputation with Rome. Unfortunately, in present times, things have not changed much. People still favor popularity over doing what is right to make themsleves part of the group (to belong), and to impress others. It is much more difficult to stand alone and be an individual in these times. Like Pilate, we look elsewhere and ignore what is right because it is easier.
