What does Jesus mean that "Everyone who exalts himself will be humbled and whoever humbles himself will be exalted"?

People who do good to his neighbors and brags about it lacks love in doing it, what he wants is praise and approval of other people.  He lacks sincerity in his action.  Whereas, if you do good to your neighbors and you are low profile, God sees the good things you are doing and He will bless you and repay you.

What does Jesus mean that "Everyone who exalts himself will be humbled and whoever humbles himself will be exalted"?

Everyone who humbles himself will be exalted, those who do things and favor on their fellows secretly. Those who follow God's will and humbled themselves in private, those were the people who will be exalted by God in the appointed time. While those who show off their doings and boastfully appear before their neighbors will be humbled by God.

I think Jesus meant that you should not see yourself as more superior to others and should humble yourself as Jesus did.  He was all powerful and all knowing but He chose to be humble and not superior with all its accompanying air, arrogance and pride. The humble, on the other hand, is meek and do not have these air and arrogance.  In the end, he shall be praised for his humility both by God and man alike while the high and mighty, (so-called bigots) who think they are far superior to the rest  shall be taught a lesson to come down from his high horse and humble himself.
