Why do you think Jesus chose to appear to the disciples in this way?

I think Jesus wanted to show the disciples that He is alive and is with them in their ordinary daily lives, fishing. In this way, He was fulfilling a promise that He would always be there for them and He would never leave them, even death could not part Him with them.

What did you learn about Jesus` background that stands out or surprises you?

i was surprise of the learning of Jesus. I think that Joseph is not just ordinary carpenter but an excellent teacher of the law too since Jesus was then known of his wisdon and understanding of the law. i believed that Joseph had done great job as father to jesus in raising him up to have knowledge in the law or religious life.

Why did Jesus use the greeting. "Peace be to you"? Was there special signiificance in this greeting?

PEACE BE WITH YOU. IT WAS A SPECIAL GREETINGS FROM JESUS BEC HE FULFILLED HIS MISSION ON EARTH THAT WAS TO OBEY HIS FATHER WILL AND SAVED US FROM SIN. AND NOW THAT HE ROSE AGAIN FROM DEAD HE GREETED HIS DISCIPLES PEACE BE WITH YOU--- MEANING FORGIVENESS TO EVERYONE WHO WILL RECIEVE JESUS, AS WE ALSO FORGIVE THOSE WHO SINS AGAINST US. JESUS CAME FOR US TO BE AT PEACE WITH THE FATHER NO, LONGER COUNTING OUR SINS-- SALVATION FOR EVERYONE WHO WILL SPEAK IN JESUS NAME.
