Why did Jesus take just Peter, James and John with Him to witness his transfiguration? Peter, James and John were Jesus' favorite and trusted disciples. They had probably heard about Jesus' impending death and to ally their fears and worries and prove to them that He is indeed the son of God, He allowed them to witness the transfiguration to give them an idea of what He predicted was going to happen after his death.
