Why did Jesus tell the man to take up the mat and walk, even though Jesus knew this violated what the Jews permitted on the Sabbath?

First Jesus ask this man; Do you want to be made well? The sick man answered, Sir I have no one to put me... in other words I want to change my difficult situation. but no one will help me. He ask this man to do the impossible , to take up his mat, and walk. Some people don`t want to change in thier lives they are comfortable right where they are, But God can do what you have been unable to do for yourself. But we must be willing to take a step of faith. Second to take up the mat and walk. The implication was, Jesus transformed the sick man, He don`t want to go back his old life. If you follow the Lord, then you cannot make any provision for relapse.
