What did you learn about Jesus` background that stands out or surprises you? Jesus was brought up in a culture that considers women as second class citizens. However, it is evident that Jesus values the rights of women and allows them to follow Him with His disciples which was very unlikely during His time. As a woman, I am touched that Jesus gives equal treatment to both genders despite the fact that He was raised in a culture that regards women as second class citizens only. This only shows that Jesus values each person regardless of their gender.
