Luke starts Jesus` story with the prediction of the birth of John the Baptist. According to Luke, what did the angel Gabriel predict as the future role of John the Baptist? He will be filled with the Holy Spirit, and will turn many of the children of Israel to the Lord, their God. He will go before him in the spirit and power of Elijah, to turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the disobedient to the wisdom of the just, to make ready a people prepared for the Lord.

How does Luke claim to distinguish his biography of Jesus from other recorded biographies from eyewitnesses (e.g. Matthew and John)? His biography was written after having traced the course of all things accurately from the first, who were eyewitnesses and servants of the word delivered them to us.
