Jesus took careful time to explain all things about his death and resurrection. Does this give you confidence in his words and promises, knowing he and others had predicted his death and resurrection? "Beginning from Moses and from all the prophets, he explained to them in all the Scriptures the things concerning himself." Yes. I believe the truth of what is in the Bible and what Jesus said and predict before hand because all are from God and His plan.

Why were fulfillment of prophecies important? "note: Jesus predicted his death and resurrection? "...saying that the Son of Man must be delivered up into the hands of sinful men, and be crucified, and the third day rise again...". There are also many accounts in the old testament describing the death and resurrection of the Messiah hundreds to thousands of years before the event. It is a plan from the Father, He sent His only begotten son, Jesus Christ to die at the cross for us, to bear our sins, and the way to heaven, eternal life and salvation.
