Why did John introduce Jesus as "the Lamb of God"? He takes away the sin of the world. He is the Son of God.

How did John`s testimony prepare people to receive Jesus and His message? John baptize water, but among them stands one whom they don't know. He is the one who comes after John, who is preferred before him, whose sandal strap he is not worthy to loosen. These things were done in Bethany beyond the Jordan where John was baptizing.
