Jesus encourages focusing on daily task at hand so that we are prepared for our last day of judgement and be vigilant for we dont know when is that day. Predicting the future is not for us to know because our lives are in the hands of God who plans for us.

Why does Jesus encourage focusing on the daily task at hand and discourage predicting the future? Because Jesus wants us to do what we can for today not for tommorow for we cannot predict if there is tommorow.
