Why does Jesus tell the growing crowd that one must be willing to renounce everything, including one`s own life, to be Jesus` follower? Jesus wants us to carry our own cross, meaning, renounce all worldly ties to material possessions and ties to loved ones, to follow Him. We must be willing to give up everything for Him.
