He did not accept the opinion of the rulers and pharisees about Jesus in the sense that he already listened to Jesus preaching and he has God's wisdom in HIM.

How is it that "desiring to do God`s will" results in a person knowing that Jesus` teaching comes from God? Jesus' teachings come directly from God. So if we desire to do God's will and tie it in with what Jesus is teaching, then it follows that it will result in us knowing more about God through Jesus; and in following and obeying Jesus, we are therefore, following God's will.
