Why was all of Jerusalem troubled about the birth of Jesus? Jerusalem was troubled about the birth of Jesus because they know that the savior is born and that all chief priest and scribes shall bow down before HIM for they know it is the prophet who was born.

Given the scandals associated with the women Tamar, Rahab, Ruth and the wife of Uriah (Bathsheba), why do you think they were mentioned in the geneology of Jesus? Their names are mentioned for us to make it a mirror that from a not so perfect generation, a good seed can come up. Thus,Jesus was set to save the sinners.and to make it a point for us to relate that we are sinners, yet, God is able to bring good, out of our bad deeds. And for us to realize that Jesus came for the remission of our sins.
