Why was it important for Jesus to go through a time of temptation? Jesus came to earth as a man, a human being. It was necessary for Him to go through temptation to demonstrate how to thwart and not succumb to Satan's inducements.

Why was it important for Jesus to go through a time of temptation? Jesus go through time of temptation in order for to show his obedience to God. Jesus was not tempted in any promises not made by God and He knows very well the scripture..He is obedient until death surrendering to the perfect will of the Father God.
