If Jesus came to show the world what God is like, what does this parable mean? God is the light of the world and if there is light it is clearer, and if there is light everything unseen can be seen. If you can see with the light then why go to the dark where you might stumble and fall, and you don't know what is in store for you.

When asked about a religious practice (fasting), why does Jesus describe how old and new may not be compatible? Jesus talks about the incompatibility of it for us to be more serious when doing the fasting.
