5333 entries for this category: The Pharisees did not believe that Jesus is the Messiah. They were still waiting for the Messiah to come. Their hearts were closed to Jesus' teachings and when he said that He would rise up on the third day, the pharisees wanted to make sure this would not happen so that other Jews would not believe in Jesus. They were actually jealous of Jesus Why didn`t the elders want the true story of Jesus` resurrection to get out? Their hearts were hardened and they could not accept the truth that Jesus is the Messiah. They were afraid that their followers (the Jews) would believe in Jesus too.

Why is the Resurrection of Jesus a source of hope for people, even today? In 2004, after watching the movie 'Jesus of Nazareth,' I found myself weeping uncontrollably when the movie ended with Jesus' crucifixion. I felt so sorry for what happened to Jesus. Suddenly, the Holy Spirit descended upon me and I felt much joy and comfort overwhelm me. The Holy Spirit then told me that Jesus is alive and comforted me. I immediately stopped crying and I was feeling so much joy and happiness like never before. Over the next few months, the Holy Spirit became my guide and teacher. He revealed to me that man had sinned that is why we knew 'good from evil' and vice versa. This was not God's plan for us. Then the Holy Spirit revealed to me that there was indeed the 'Tree of Life', prepared for those who were chosen to enter the kingdom of God. This place is heavilly guarded by an angel of the Lord. That is why no one has ever laid eyes upon it. And that is why I believe heaven is a place on earth. It kept me desiring for more. But the more I kept pressing on with questions, the less I saw. God has a time for all things. I have been a Christian all my live but have never encountered such intimacy with God until then. God is real. Jesus is indeed the only Son of God and He is our resurrected Saviour, Our Salvation! To all believers, know that when you have this encounter, it is to strengthen you for what is to come. Jesus was tempted after he received the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit came to prepare me for my trials and tribulations. I would not have came out triumphant if I had forgotten Jesus. His name is so powerful even the demons flee. May God's blessings pour on all believers and may more people come to know of Jesus' powerful name. Thank you Jesus.
