By stating that to love one another, Jesus draws a distinction from the old testimon saying love God and hate your enemies". Jesus new commanment states any other including your enemies. More importantly says by loving one another, it is the quality HE accepts as HIS deciple.And by stating love one another as I have loved you, Jesus automatically accepts you and the one you love into his Devine circle .HE makes loving God with all your heart,with all your mind and all your soul and loving one another as the TWO greatest commandments reveals the importance HE values love and loving in Gods treachings. In essence GOD is LOVE

Why does Jesus call "Love One Another" a "New" commandment?

for me, why is it call Love one another is that Jesus himself loves' us and by that love we,must to love our fellow..and if we love him we also must love other as we love him..and in loving we must to love with all our heart,mind,and soul,and we must love our neighbor as we love our self..and by that,we must love also our enemy by our wholeheart..without nothing in return to them..because Jesus has an unconditional love for us..
