Jesus forgive the paralytic first because of the strong faith in him for the people had taken great efforts to lower the sick man from the roof. Jesus declared the Son of Man is empowered to forgive sin on earth, knowing the Pharisees were out to condemn him of blasphemy for they believed only God can forgive according to the laws of Moses. Jesus being God sent could perform miracles that none had ever seen before and that became a treat to the Pharisees and Saddesees who believed Jesus was just like any man.

Why did Jesus forgive the man`s sins first, and heal afterward? Jesus had to forgive the man's sins first to cleanse him and heal him first spiritually before He healed him physically. Because thats how God wants it, for us to be cleansed and healed first of our sins thru God's forgiveness and mercy before we will be healed physically. Its our spirit first over our physical body.
