Its all about trusting our Lord Jesus. Because we are all sinners, the Lord knows that it is difficult to obey His teachings. Therefore, He warned that those who do not follow His teachings will be punished when He returns to judge us all whereas those trust in Him will be saved.

What did you learn about Jesus` background that stands out or surprises you? Learning the backgrounds of Jews during that time can help me a lot in understanding the words of God specially the Gospels. I can now differentiate the Sadducees from the Pharisees. I had a better imagination of the place where Jesus lived and grew up, understanding of their culture, political and economic situation that time. Everything is very helpful in understanding the teachings of Jesus.
