Jesus called "Love One Another" a "New" Commandment becaused He first showed us that He loved us by his crucifixation on the Cross for our sins so that we may be saved and become heirs of the kingdom of God. He gave us this new commandement because He loved us and he wanted us to love all men in return and he wanted us to prove that we all His disciples just by loving one another no matter who we are, whether black or white, rich or poor, handicapped or whole as by this only we can tryly be called children of God. By loving one another Jesus said that this is the greatest commandment for it is difficult to love those who hurt and took everything from us. Even if somebody borrowed from us we should not expect anything in return if the person can not repay us as we must truly believe that our reward in heaven is great. This is the promise of our Lord Jesu Christ the only begooten son of God our Father.

Why does Jesus call "Love One Another" a "New" commandment? Jesus calls this a new commandment because this commandment encompasses all the ten commandments given in the old testament. This new commandment is a summary of all christian ommandments.
