God almighty put these three together as a body or man. therefore when the 'SIN' affects the spirit of a man, then it affects the body also. a sinful spirit is not better than an sinful body. for God is not respector of persons. Adam sinned and the punishment came upon his body also. he was thrown out from the garden of eden and to work hard for his livilyhood. No free food at all. Why did Jesus´ penalty for "sin" need to include physical and emotional pain - why not just spiritual separation from God? Jesus suffered penalty for our sins,including physical and emotional pain because it was God's willing for Jesus to pass through it.Jesus was aware of what he is going to pass through so that he can bring salvation to mankind.I believe Jesus was suffered for our sins.The true pain for Jesus and God was their seperation for 3 days.Jesus Christ was Son of God and he came to earth and died on the wooden cross for our sins.Thank you God Father for LOVE.

Why did Jesus´ penalty for "sin" need to include physical and emotional pain - why not just spiritual separation from God? The physical and emotional pain indicate which was revealed to prophet Isaiah in ch 53, that Jesus would be tortured in physically and emotionally as well.As it says in Is 53 that because of our sins he was wounded, beaten because of the evil we did.We are healed by the punishment he sufferd, made whole by the blows he received.He was treated harshly but endured it humbly, he never said a word. We see Jesus' emotional pain when he said aloud in the cross "My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?" It was God's purpose for us to see Jesus' suffering with our physical eyes and believe in Him for what he has done to save us from our sins. His endurace to physical and emotional pain also teaches us to be humble.
