Jesus chose to show Himself to Mary because she was the one who was most concerned about Him. She loved Him so much - she went back to the tomb and wept for him and when she found Him gone she was ready to search for Him to complete the Human burial rites. Jesus showed Himself to her because she was humble and the sinner whom He had forgiven - He always shows Himself to the meek and humble of spirit - not the rich and proud.
