I think God chose such a unique way to bring Jesus into the world through a virgin birth - to fulfill His great plan - to fulfin the prophecies given in the Book of Genesis  which says, "...and I will put enmity between thee and the woman and between her seed and thy seed.It shall bruise thy head and thou shalt bruise his heal."  God spoke to the serpent after it had caused Eve to disobey God and eat the forbidden fruit.  It was through woman that sin entered the world and it was throughtheseed of woman that Salvation would come.

Centuries before Christ was born in Bethlehem, mention of this virgin is made in Isaiah Ch. 7 v.14 - the Prophet stated "Therefore the Lord Himself shall give you a sign; behold a virgin shall conceive and bear a son and shall call His name Emmanuel.

Through this virgin birth Jesus is proved to be the Son of God... no man can be born of a Virgin.
