The Isreal were waiting for thier messiah to save them form all these bondageand the Lord sent His Son to them though they not got it but His sacrifice saved not only them but the whole ,belived in Him

What do you find astonishing about this centurion (leader of Roman soldiers)? The Faith of the centurian and his humility. The centurian certainly had a revelation of Jesus as God. He knew he can not order around Jesus

What did you learn about Jesus` background that stands out or surprises you? Jesus life is a way, which every human being have to choice to improve their inner & outer personality. Simply knowing that God loves us and gave His Son for us is not enough. we must choose for our self to follow Him. God has done His part, now it's our move. It means we give our life over to Him and give Him control of our actions, thoughts, habits, attitudes, everything! It all happens by faith. Faith is trusting in Jesus Christ alone for eternal life.
