What makes it so difficult to love our enemies? Bonus Question: What happens when we love our enemies?

It is difficult to love our enemies especially if the person is prospering in his life. It is also hard when you reach out to someone and receive a negative response. Jesus said "Love your enemies, bless them that hate and curse you, do good to them and pray for them" Matt: 5:43. In relation to this, one could also read Psamls 37:34 and James 1:12.

b. When we love our enemies it proves we are children of the Father, and shine like the sun, so others could see the works of the Father. It is written, " the enemies of the Lord shall be consume into smoke..." psalms 37:20. We as believers should focus on the word, and the work we are  set out to do for the Glory of God. To bring the gospel and win souls for the Kingdom. If our enemies see that we are not responding the way they want us to, hopfully they might become saved. All this is the work of Satan to steal and destroy the goodness God has for His children. I understand now why Jesus said "What reward have ye if you love those who love you."

Why did Jesus instruct his followers to react passively when attacked?
Jesus was teaching his followers to become humble. He also ask that we as His followers, love one another as we love ourselves. I believe Jesus is also teaching us how to resist temptations and not give in to the enemy. When we become Christ like, these challenges become ordinary. Meaning, when one becomes a follower of Christ, these prospects come with the committment.

Why is it evil to use oaths?

God commands that one should not swear at all. Only one can make the impossible, possible and that is our Lord Jesus Christ. Let your Yes be Yes and let your No be No. This is the word of God.
