The affluent people stay witin their circle and tend to be judgmental on the less fortunate. Jesus valued everyone but he showed more compassion on those people who are poor than the people who could afford to give. Jesus has taught us not to differentiate. Why do you think Peter was so emphatic and yet so wrong about denying Jesus? Peter told Jesus he would not deny him but when time came he did deny him. It shows what can happen through being afraid. Peter did notwant to die. Also Jeus knew it was going to happen so the scriptures werewritten

Since Jesus knew that He was to be crucified, why did He not just avoid trouble by leaving town? "For God so loved the world that He gaved His Only Begotten Son, that whosoever believed Him should not perish but have everlasting life." This prophecy has been foretold thru the great prophets of the bible. Jesus was sent to redeem the world of their Sins. His love is so pure he could not avoid this calling.
