Why did the high priest view it as blasphemy when Jesus acknowledged that he was the Christ, the Son of God? Like many, the high priest was set in his ways. Because the Holy Spirit did not dwell within his being, he did not recognized Jesus as the Messiah. Otherwise he would not have mentioned that Jesus was blasphemying. Others knew from the time the saw Jesus, even the blind believed, because the Holy Spirit dwelled in them.

Why did the high priest view it as blasphemy when Jesus acknowledged that he was the Christ, the Son of God? Many of them felt they were the chosen one so when a humble man came along and propheside that he was the son of God they felt he was saying blasphemy against God.
