People follow Jesus, because He healed and restored the lifes of the oppressed. He delivered people from unclean spirits, He preached the gospel. He performed miracles in front of thousands of people. He also though them how they should live with one another.

Jesus die a death that was extremely painful.  Christ suffered in order to make the sacrifice for our sins.

Peter 3:18 - For Christ also suffered once for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in flesh but made alive by the Spirit.
