Why did Jesus heal by touching the man with leprosy (a contageous disease)?

I believe Jesus touched the man with leprosy to heal him, because he wanted to show us not to scorn or be afraid of any disease. And also: The man knelt before Jesus, pleading to be healed also believed for his healing before Jesus acted on his request. By touching the man it meant to me, that Jesus knew his heart and his will. The man acknowledged Jesus was the Savior by kneeling at His feet, Jesus'touch healed completely.

What is authority, and how did Jesus demonstrate authority in his teachings and actions?
Authority is having the power to carry out a given task/undertaking. Jesus was not afraid, he performed miracles and teached the Word of God on the Sabbath. This was against the law and Jesus was recognized by the people in the synogoes that He had authority from God.

What part of Jesus` "mission statement" (reading from Isaiah) has the most appeal to you?
The most appeal to me is: " deliver those who are crushed."
