What did you learn about Jesus` background that stands out or surprises you?

Nothing that I've read in this article surprise me about Jesus. I already knew most of what is written, however what stands out for me about Jesus is that He was humble enough and love us enough to come down from his heavenly throne and dwell amongst the very people that disobey him and cause sin to befall them. Sometimes it boogles the mind to think that God, the creator, the Almighty, All powerful King love me so much to give up heaven and His glory and come and die for me! That is amazing!
