Jesus didn't de-emphasize this portion of His message for His time had not yet fulfilled. For He and the Father are one and knows when the will is to be fulfilled.

How does the "eternal life" Jesus offers differ from the "ordinary life" people live? It differs immensely. For one thing eternal life, there is no wanting and you are satisfied and content to be in the Kingdom of God. With ordinary life there is pain, temptation, sin, and a constant wanting that cant be filled with material goods

Why did Jesus tell the man to take up the mat and walk, even though Jesus knew this violated what the Jews permitted on the Sabbath? Jesus wanted to show that even though it was the Sabbath, it shouldn't prevent one from helping and loving others
