Why did Herod try to kill Jesus? Jealousy and the fear that Jesus would have more power over the people the he would. He did not realize that Jesus was not sent to rule, only to teach and show the way of the Heavenly Father.

Given the scandals associated with the women Tamar, Rahab, Ruth and the wife of Uriah (Bathsheba), why do you think they were mentioned in the geneology of Jesus? They played an important role throughout all the generations leading up to the birth of the Christ. They were all mentioned in the scriptures and were to be taught to the people.
